Today, according to Travis J. Tritten, there are 2,018 military blogs from 37 countries registered on Milblogging.com, a site that tracks the military blogosphere.

How many bloggers are there from World II, from Iwo Jima, from the first wave on Iwo Jima? I think I'm it. If there are more, please let me know, i want the company.

We can learn a lot from our boys in other countries, in the service, protecting our way of life. We can learn a lot from those who have gone before. I will be passing along what the boys are doing now, how our great country supports them, and I will be passing along what we already learned. We each have a story to tell, and its best not to have learn the same thing over again. There are two types of Marines, the ones who learn from other's mistakes and then there's rest of us.

I know right off what Dad would say about this nonsense--"why was I fighting in Iwo Jima? I suppose they didn't want to offend the Japanese, Nazis, and Mussolini's party. If our guys had not fought no one would have to worry about saying "God Bless the USA." My dad would call that principle a traitor.
